Her columns have appeared in local and regional publications including The Island News, Lowcountry Weekly and Hilton Head Monthly. Her books, Images of America: Isle of Palms and Images of America: Port Royal were released in 2005 and 2006 by Arcadia Publishing.

Her third book, South: What it means to be here in heart or in spirit was released by Lydia Inglett, Ltd. and Starbooks Publishing in October, 2014. Wendy’s latest book, Charleston Salt & Iron was released by the same publisher in May, 2016. It launched on Mother’s Day to honor Wendy’s mom, Shirley Nilsen, for whom the book is dedicated.
